Week 2 Journal + Prompts with ATS
Reminder bbs. ——→Let’s try to do at least 5 fun and creative journal pages each week. And yes, some of what I will share will lean to poetry because it is National Poetry Month but all of them lean toward taking 15 tiny minutes to yourself a day –that's really only a little bit more than an hour. For you. I am just as guilty as everyone about becoming a TV junkie, a book reader or even a TikTok doom scroller especially when I'm stressed and anxious which is lately often. And sometimes for no good reason it feels like. But we can pull ourselves out of this. We can be creative.
WEEK 2:
Today is a special day. Don’t forget to use the new pens and crack open journals that are pretty. Use everything. Touch everything. Be all the way in with your life.
1. Write a list of everything that you want right now. List it all out. Tangible. Material. Spiritual. Fantasy. All of it. Now put fold that piece of paper up, kiss it with your lips and carry it with you all week. Hell, even sleep with it under your pillow
2. First Line Prompts: use these as little starters to other writing:
She removed her coat…
The dog was circling the house…
I want you to stop…
Push me up against the wall and…
Would you like me to repeat myself…
3. Write a poem using the following Beatles line in it somewhere:
--→Her Majesty is a pretty nice girl
4. Write about a color. For 10 minutes. Any color. Don’t stop.
5. The list poems… from last week.
Top ten ways you like to be touched
All of the times you have cried in last month and why
Top 5 turn Ons/ Top 5 turn Offs
Everything you know about Astral Projecting
Where is your heart
All of the people you wish you had kissed
What do you not believe in anymore
These? Did you make a list? If you did and you want in on a fun partner project—reply back with one of your lists. <3
6. Write an AFTER poem. This may mean a poem about AFTER lunch, after making love, after you find out something, after someone dies, after this or that.
7. Object Writing. Stolen from Lydia Loveless who stole it from someone else and so on. I like this because it always reminds me of all of the wild and wonderous places you can get to with just one word. Write for 10 minutes. Do not stop or think too hard. See where you go.
Words to choose from:
Open
Meadow
Scent
Scarf
Window
Down
My object writing output from Lydia’s most recent workshop. Messy. Yes, but I found something in there to write about today. <3

Random stuff:
Life is very fragile, and it makes me feel so much to know that. We are constantly on the edge of things. I have had some news lately that knocked me down. How do you keep yourself together when terrible things happen? I want to know. Share some coping skills, guys? Let’s do that for each other. I am all in on this stuff:
Tapping
Ripping junk mail into tiny pieces
Listening to records
Lifting very heavy things
Mantras always
Trying not to hide away by being honest
other stuff:
YOU?
Last stuffs:
I need to walk every day. I am feeling like is something I need to do. I am going to work on this and report back to you. Walking and noticing more. Moving my body in a way that is prayer or communion. Ritual. I need it. There are birds now everywhere. I hear them each morning again like a concert. The sun is licky and lovely. Even in Ohio where the chill is real, spring is moving and grooving. It is coming for me.
I hope it is nice where you are right now. xo
LAST two days for postcards! Ends Midnight Tuesday.
I am sending spring postcards. Last September we did spell ones. This round is personalized ones. You send me 6 bucks to my venmo. @amytsharp & you add yr addy and a word or phrase you want, and I will try and write you something the universe says I need to give to you. Just you.

Amy
