Keep Trying #4

Well, that was a hard month. I have been sincerely trying to keep my head above water, so let’s do another Keep Trying post today.

But first. Let’s also give you guys the new way I think I want to be writing here. I still want to give you things like this “keep trying” type of post and some other longer essays and music…. but I think I want to start to do a weekly SUNDAY post. Is this ok with you? It will be more of a round up and a poem or post/essay. I think it will be good for me and for YOU. You can know when to expect me. Sunday nights are scary.
I would like to be there for you. This platform is amazing and has allowed me to open up and write honestly and I am so appreciative of you all. Thank you for allowing me to figure out how to be on here. I have a ton of creative projects swirling and I can’t wait to share them with you. I have a lot of personal essay work to share too.

BUT. I do want to know HOW to best serve you! So please if you can take these quickie polls?

1. Music forever. Listen to TS new album. Also, SC’s playlist.

   And Bruce Springsteen covering nightshift. <3

2. Sigourney Weaver learned to free dive for Avatar, and I like this interview. I like reading about insecurity and freeing yourself from it.

3. Get lost in Wikipedia. This one here will make your mouth form a perfect circle. 

4. Write a little. Here’s a prompt for you:

   Interview 6 people.

   Questions are:

   What should I do with my life?

   What do you think my magic is?

   +then write about what you heard for 20 mins.

5. This made me smile. Go, goldfish!

6. Reading. Reading. A new book by an old friend. Reading is my balm and this one also gives us smart thoughts on reframing the abortion issue. I love Gabrielle.

7. Buy that brown butcher paper and tape it down to your table or island. Leave pens and pencils around. Find yourself doodling. Writing. Drawing. It will happen. Just like little kids do.

8. DID YOU DO THIS ONE? If not, still time. Make a list of two big things you want to accomplish or have happen by 12/31/22. Tape it on your bathroom mirror. This is a repeat. This is the sign you have been waiting for.

9.  Soup season. I have a really good Beef and Barley recipe if you want it let me know. The creation of soup is a soothing exercise in the kitchen. Share some of your favorites with us? Also, giving soup to others is a BIG LOVE LANGUAGE.

10. Podcasts? Who knows some good ones that are like therapeutic? I like Glennon Doyle and Brene Brown. I also love Maintenance Phase and You’re Wrong About. Podcast and hot-girl-fall-walking time, ya’ll. What are we wearing?

mantra: abundance is my middle name

Say it a few times a day. What does abundance mean to you?  Abundance is the opposite of scarcity. Let’s not live in the scarcity mindset. Make a list of everything abundant in your life. Add things that scare you.
