Hey bbs,
I had the absolute honor of giving a Creative Mornings talk this week here in Columbus, Ohio. My talk was “The Art of Reflection and Your One Wild and Precious (Creative) Life"—a name inspired by the one and only Queen, Mary Oliver.
I shared how she taught me to use reflection not just to look back, but as a powerful tool for my creativity. We all need time to reflect on the lives we live, the art we create, and the paths we’re on. It’s about unlocking new truths, finding inspiration, and gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves as we trust in the magic that is our wild and precious creativity. Reflection helps us appreciate the moments we’ve lived, the work we’ve created, and the path ahead. It’s not just about the past—it’s about trusting the meaning in everything along the way.
I spoke about my own journey and encouraged everyone to embrace creative reflection in their lives. I even shared some practical tools during the talk, and I’d love to pass them along to you too. Plus, I’m tossing in a few more random prompts to get your creative juices flowing. Cuz, I love you so much. How is your writing going lately?
Here are a few of the tools I shared with my Creative Mornings audience.
Try them out, make them your own, and trust in the magic of reflection.
