Spring can make you feel a bit better if you think about it coming

In the spring—the one that's coming all soon and sultry—

we will walk together through the sweet streets after work.

Yeah, I think we will do that a lot.

And we will talk about everything, unfolding soft,

like the center of life.

And I will probably try and get all worried about something

totally fucking random and removed from reality,

and it will be you who pulls me back—

to the sidewalk, to the pastel flowers, to the broad bushes,

to the ribboned sunlight on concrete—

right out of my dangerous mind

and beside you, in step.

And you will remind me that there's always something—

you'll say it all matter-of-fact, all truthful and comforting.

And I will say it back to you, like an echo.

And with you, I feel every step.
