My friend sent me this podcast to listen to, and I devoured it in one day. I love Lee Krasner so much. Her painting The Seasons is my favorite (you can see it here). I’ve stood in galleries all over the world, and this is one of the paintings that stops me in my tracks. It holds my attention and captivates me like no other. It’s grand, it’s glorious, and I love hearing her story. She changed the landscape of modern art. I need to rewatch Pollock and pick up some books about her for the winter. My friend said something like, "This is the season to devour and invest in the stories of women and love." I’m paraphrasing, but she made me feel excited to go under quilts with books.
“I need to be alone for certain periods of time or I violate my own rhythm.”
-Lee Krasner
I love that it’s been cold on my morning walks lately, and I can wear my ridiculous hats without sweating. I think my internal core temperature is now the same as the devil’s blood most days. I love this decay of life. NOT.
It’s Monday morning—what do you want out of this week? I want to not cry or be stressed out. Simple things. I’ll try to set myself up for success: the gym, less wine, more communication, nature, self-care. I’ll even go into my office and interact with other HOOOOMANS. At least I’m excited to wear fall clothes.
Follow me (pretty please) over on TikTok as I try to cobble together time to hit 1,000 followers so I can sell stuff (mostly my new holiday line I’m working on). I worry about the job market every single day, and I kick myself for not sticking with blogging and influencing back in the day. I used to make MONEY from it. Life got real fast, and in the way. I fear I’m too old now—but maybe that’s just fear. Right?
Random stuff:
I discovered Alma Thomas this week! Luv her.
(Let’s share a female artist we love in the comments?)
I found out Keith loves my comfort film Julie and Julia too, so we watched it together.
I went to an adult Scholastic book fair at a bar!
We learned how to make homemade pasta!
Keith has new work out on bandcamp!
This is my new favorite potion.
Blaise scheduled his driving test!
Finn got a script chosen to workshop at college!
Scout likes high school, found a great new med for his terrible eczema, and sometimes comes out of his room!
No, seriously. I’m taking every single good thing and holding it in my heart. I want to drag myself out of the small dip in mood I was experiencing. I think it’s time for the magic light.
Also, I feel like it’s time to watch Moonstruck. I don’t know why, but I must watch it this week. Maybe you should too! There are entire Pinterest boards dedicated to Cher’s hair in that film. I love this world.
Happy Monday! I’m rooting for us all.

You're not too old! (I say to you and myself.)
Anna Brones motivates my creativity these days and you might like her substack Creative Fuel.
I adore you and I feel the gentle sinking into fall in this all. My middle goes to Smith where Julia went and they have a Julia Child day where the dining halls cook many things from her cookbooks for all the menus that day. Love you xx
